Abstract :
This article presents an investigation into the understanding and degree of acceptance of popular science media by the public, analyzes their rationale and attempts find solutions to the problems they raise. The method adopted involved random sampling of citizens in eighteen cities in China, administering questionnaires and statistically analyzing the data using SPSS 20.0. The survey results show how factors such as gender, age, residence, nationality, occupation and public education influence attitude to popular science media, and shows that the public holds a low degree of satisfaction with popular science media. In conclusion, the authors suggest that science communicators should adopt an innovative approach to communicating about science with the general public. In particular, great attention should be paid to the interests of the audience, communication channels, and techniques of expression.
