  • Abstract
Wireless Area Networks are commonly used for a great variety of applications. Actually, more and more people are using them as the access network technology for their home network or to access to Internet through a wireless router. In many cases, the access is performed in outdoors, not only in indoors. On the other hand, networks are experiencing a huge demand of services such as VoIP and IPTV that require QoS. In this paper, we discuss the relationship between the network QoS parameters over an outdoor wireless local area network with the sensed atmospheric variables of the environment in order to know if the weather affect to the IPTV transmission. We will present our testbench, and the measurements taken from the network and a weather station, and we will discuss them by using both Statgraphics and SPSS statistical software. Our goal is to find a relationship between the network performance parameters and the weather measurements.
