Abstract :
A novel, compact diplexer chip for PON applications has been demonstrated by monolithic integration of an etched facet 1310 nm horizontal cavity surface-emitting laser with a 1490 nm PIN detector. Optical characteristics, sensitivity, and isolation are reported.
