  • Abstract
    In this work, the authors present a suitability analysis of an Extended-Interaction Klystron (EIK) and a Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) to meet the requirements of the Wind-Scatterometer instrument, that will be part of the MetOp Second Generation (MetOp-SG) meteorological mission. Trade-off analyses are presented, common considerations to both technologies are provided and a preliminary analysis on the cathode lifetime is given.
