Abstract
Renewable energy solutions are becoming increasingly popular, solar power is one of the most powerful renewable energy. Maximizing power output from a solar system is desirable to increase efficiency. There are three major approaches for maximizing power extraction in solar systems. They are sun tracking, maximum power point (MPP) tracking or both. Sun tracking systems are of several types, depending on the number of rotation axes we can find one-axis or dual axis sun tracker. The aim of this work is to present a new and efficient design of a microcontroller operated two-axis sun tracker which is driven only by one motor. The interests of this design deals with the low cost of realisation and low power consumption in the additional electronic board.
