Abstract :
In a telecommunications switching environment, the reliability of the stored program control software is critical and therefore fault-tolerant programming techniques must be applied. A discussion is presented of the software fault handling and data audit mechanisms present in the central digital switching system and how they help to achieve the objectives of a fault-tolerant system
