Abstract
The Extensible Markup Language (XML) provides a simple yet flexible syntax to describe document structures. The use of XML for MPEG-4 video representation is first examined in this research. Then, the XML-based error resilience technology is investigated. It is demonstrated that XML-based MPEG-4 video improves the streaming performance significantly due to its strong error resilient capability
