Abstract
In the context of parameter set estimation, it is desired to produce the least conservative set estimate that is consistent with a priori assumptions of the identification experiment. The choice of plant excitation for an identification experiment has a critical impact on the quality of the modeling knowledge gained. An algorithm for synthesizing plant inputs to yield minimal hypervolume ellipsoids bounding the set of feasible parameters is developed based upon geometric insight into the optimal volume ellipsoid (OVE) algorithm update
