Abstract :
Several methods for deriving spatial information are tested for block configuration detectors. The performances of detectors based on continuous scintillator blocks and a module based on pixellated scintillators are compared. We showed that undivided scintillator block designs enables better spatial resolution performance than the pixellated detector. In addition, as attested by our results for incidence angles up to 40° with respect to the normal direction, contrary to the pixellated detector, the block configuration allows correcting for depth-of-interaction (DOI).
