Abstract :
Hardware issues that must be considered in computer simulations of digital controllers are presented. Both fixed-point and floating-point arithmetic formats are discussed and analyzed with respect to the emulation of digital controllers. The integration of specialized programming routines with the SIMULINK software system is presented. These specialized programs perform fixed-point and floating-point arithmetic emulation
