Abstract :
In order to improve the dynamic response of boost type DC/DC converter, a dead-beat controller with inductor current prediction is proposed. Firstly, the inductor current of the next two switching cycles is predicted based on the linear extrapolation method and the pulse-with modulation (PMW) duty ratios of them are adjusted to eliminate the difference between the predicted current and reference current. Then the small signal model of the voltage loop is analyzed for designing the PI controller. Compared with the conventional current controllers such as proportional-integral (PI) controller, the proposed dead-beat controller can not only avoid the oscillation problem when the PWM duty ratio exceeds 50%, but also improve the dynamic response greatly. Finally, the performance of the proposed controller is verified by experimental results.
