            Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to describe a cooperated low power operation, Night-Watch mechanism. The Night- Watch mechanism reduces useless channel scanning of the container security device (CSD) based on IEEE 802.15.4. In order to reduce energy consumption of the device, the Night- Watch mechanism uses the specific feature that a CSD moves as a group with other CSDs. The CSD alters its mode based on the environmental changes around it. Most of the CSD operate as a low power mode, and only a few of CSDs monitors all channels of IEEE 802.15.4 instead of other CSDs. To maximize the lifetime of all CSDs, CSDs change its role with each other. A key contribution of this mechanism is the decrease in power consumption with its simplicity. The CSD doesn´t manage other CSDs and only uses its environmental information. The simplicity provides maximum flexibility to apply to system and reduces the overhead in entire system.
