Abstract :
Chatter vibration is a relative frictional force between tool and materials during machining in machine tools. The chatter vibration affects the quality of machining materials, machining tool, and machine. In this article, we try to detect the chatter vibration and compensate in real-time during machining for precision manufacturing in machine tools. The developed compensation system for chatter vibration has distinctive concept which includes the sensor part for detecting chatter vibration, the compensation part for controlling machining condition according as detecting value, and interface part between embedded device and CNC (Computerized Numerical Controller). This paper also deals with the performance test for application and evaluation regarding detecting and compensating the chatter vibration in machine tools.
