Abstract
Based on a review of IT evaluation studies, this paper identifies four phases in context of computer development: germination, development, integration and forecasting. We examine the research background, characteristics and key results of each phase. Current IT evaluation studies may be classified into several mainstream areas to explain the multifaceted aspects of IT evaluation. Finally, this paper provides some suggestions for future IT evaluation research.
