Abstract :
This paper describes the concept of a novel removable medium based on a hard disk drive (called iVDR™-: for information versatile disk for removable usage) and an interface architecture for copyright protection based on public key infrastructure (PKI) and superdistribution. This interface architecture is applicable to various media including iVDR whose interfaces are AT-attachment (ATA) based.
