Abstract
An ultrasonic motor uses mechanical vibration, and the revolution of the rotor is obtained by friction force. These motors offer interesting characteristics such as large torques at low speed. This paper presents some experimental results on the design of a speed controller for an ultrasonic motor. The speed controller is implemented in a classical Proportional Integral (PI) controller. A digital signal processor (DSP) is used to run the PI controller
