  • Abstract
Land mobile and personal communications systems suffer from the presence of intentional and unintentional man made noise sources. The major source which cause the most significant problem is generated by the ignition system of automobiles, always present in the environment where transceivers operate. This paper presents models of automotive ignition noise based on measurements in the city of Athens. The parameters of the models are frequency, location (urban, suburban and rural) and traffic densities (cars/min)
