Abstract
Swelling gels are very attractive for applications in various domains:biomaterials, agriculture, security.... This study concerns a crosslinked. PolyAcrylAcid (P(AA)) synthesized by inverse suspension polymerization. The principal chemical property of this material is related to acrylate groups which are able to absorb an important amount of liquid. The swelling property of crosslinked P(AA) are dependent upon different parameters such as temperature, solution pH, crosslinking ratio. Surprisingly, the molecular mechanism of swelling remains unclear. The aim of this work is to analyze molecular mobility of crosslinked P(AA) by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermally Stimulated Current (TSC). The influence of heptane has been followed in order to established the molecular origin of the various events
