Abstract
This paper considers observer-based fault estimation of switched systems. A robust estimator is proposed to simultaneously estimate the actuator fault and the state of the system. Based on the estimate of fault and the states, an observer based fault tolerant controller is designed to guarantee the input-to-state stability of the closed-loop switched system. Sufficient conditions for the existence of the fault tolerant controller are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequality. Finally, a numerical example is presented to illustrate the efficiency of the method.
