Abstract
The enormous quantity of available information in penal justice systems and the urgent need for judges to accomplish their tasks in due time present a new challenge for juridical applications: to reduce explicit computer system interactions, filtering out information needed for a desired result. Context is knowledge that enables the definition of what is or is not relevant in a given situation. Applications that use context are useful for filtering out and sharing more relevant information to meet users´ needs. This paper presents the integration of context with the Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) model oriented toward penal justice. The basic cycle of the CBR model has been adapted in order to be compatible with the integration proposal. We present an implemented prototype built with the framework JColibri.
