Abstract
The present paper reports the main results of a study the aim of which being to assess the conditions of the application of the power balance method to the electric field calculation in an electromagnetic complex cavity. Indeed, the use of this simple and efficient method is based on the assumption that the stationary electric field distribution in the cavity is statistically isotropic and homogenous when stimulated by a high frequency source. This study has been performed with the help of a 3D numerical simulation based on various configurations of a generic model. It has pointed out the main conditions of the application of the power balance method.
