Abstract
In every NPP the operation sections have incorporated a number of field data sheets which are manually filled on hard copies in each shift, reviewed and stored for future reference. The entire process of filling, checking and reviewing takes considerable time. This delay may cause some of the important parameters getting highlighted late in the shift. And moreover, a quick comparison and reference to the old data is difficult. In the light of above, Kaiga Generating Station (KGS) for the first time in NPCIL has developed and implemented Plant Data Management System (PDMS) wherein the entire process is implemented in electronic form, by employing handheld computers and plant intranet server with suitable software interface.
