  • Abstract
An investigation of noninvasive continuous blood pressure monitoring based on the principle of indirect loading of the vascular wall is described. A finger cuff with an optical sensor is used to detect the pulsation of vascular volume. The signal of this sensor is then used to control the pressure in the cuff. A simple air compressor, the time response of which can satisfy the requirement for dynamic monitoring of the blood pressure, is described. The waveform of the blood pressure is shown. The results of a preliminary accuracy test are given
