Abstract :
This paper discusses a design and the main characteristics of a high-pressure xenon cylindrical ionization chamber. It is shown that the energy resolution of the gamma-ray spectrometer is less than 4% at 662 keV, and does not vary widely in the broad temperature range between 20°-175°C. Results are submitted of vibration tests of the cylindrical gamma-ray detector. Discussed are the prospects of high-pressure xenon cylindrical gamma-ray detectors for use in geophysical research
