A rotating or non-rotating coordinate system can be used to generate a desired path. In this research, a novel parallel mechanism with unlimited rotational capability is used to investigate the advantages of using a rotating coordinate in path generation. This paper aims to describe how a backlash free motion can be generated based on using a rotating coordinate system. Also, it is shown how the misallocating of the zero-setting point has a significant effect on the geometrical error of the generated path when the rotating coordinate system is used.
