Abstract :
With the continuous emergence of the new Qswitched and mode-locked lasers, the technology of laser ranging is developing very quickly. It has been widely applied to aerospace, industry, agriculture and other fields. The paper elaborated the principle of time-of-flight ranging methods which includes pulse method, phase method and interference method. Their performance and the reasons of influencing measurement accuracy are analyzed separately. Discussed the method of combining time-of-flight ranging with not time-off light ranging. The segments needed to improve are pointed out in laser ranging technology. At last looked into the application prospect of laser ranging.
