Abstract
In this paper, we proposed a Proactive Member-Centric routing protocol using the Several strategy (PMCS) for having bandwidth aggregation in the hybrid VANET environment such that a better collaborate video streaming service in the "fleet scenario" can be achieved. We consider a group of vehicles that drive from the same starting point with the same route and are going to the same destination. The main idea of this paper is to make use of these vehicles\´ driving patterns and several strategy to provide a more efficient bandwidth aggregation way for streaming applications in VANET. PMCS maintains the topology among fleet member nodes proactively. By giving member nodes higher priority to forward the data, the special driving pattern exists in fleet members is going to benefit the routing because the links between member nodes are more stable than others, by maintaining member nodes and suitable nonmember nodes, PMCS can reduce some control overhead, by inducing a scheme to find suitable nonmember nodes to help forwarding, PMCS can connect the separated topology. To evaluate the performance of the proposed protocol, we also address a fleet mobility model. The simulation results show that our proposed routing protocol has higher throughput and packet delivery ratio with much lower control overhead.
