Abstract
Various information models deal with specific aspects of Computer-Aided Control Engineering (CACE). There is a need to integrate these models into a single view which covers all levels of CACE activity. In this paper a number of existing models for CACE data structures and project management are surveyed and their most important aspects are identified. An information model is then introduced which serves to propose a unified view of the CACE problem. The model adopts a middle-level view and bridges the gaps between the existing models. After reviewing the types of control engineering information handled by this model, its role in an integrated CACE environment is discussed
