Abstract :
A new design of dual band and dual circular-polarized micro-strip antenna array is presented in this paper. The 8-elements micro-strip antenna array is designed with two 2×2 antenna arrays, one is working at 2.2GHz radiating left circular electromagnetic wave, while the other one is working at 2.0GHz receiving right circular electromagnetic wave simultaneously. A novel placement is used, which makes the micro-strip antenna array much more compact and low profile. The simulated results shows that the maximum gain has reached 13.6dB, the axial ratio is lower than 2dB during the 1-dB gain bandwidth, and its isolation S12 is lower than -20dB. Finally the corresponding array has been fabricated and tested, the results agree well with the simulated results.
