Abstract
In most multichannel models, narrowband signals are assumed transmitted, and existing algorithms for parameter estimation are based on this assumption. Here we exploit the wideband properties of a linear chirp signal to make common direction of arrival estimators more efficient. In addition to direction of arrival, linear chirp parameters are estimated. We propose a suboptimal two step algorithm for joint direction of arrival and chirp parameter estimation. Performance is evaluated on synthetic data. Further experimental data are available to complement the theory.
