Abstract :
Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are currently attracting a lot of attention from wireless research and technology community due to their importance as means for providing cost-efficient broadband wireless connectivity. WMNs are based on mesh topology, in which every node is connected to one or more nodes, enabling thus the information transmission in more than one path. In this paper, we propose a system for solving the node placement problem in WMNs and deal with the effects of size of population in GA. We evaluate the performance of the proposed system considering giant component and the number of covered users parameters. The simulation results shows that the system have a good behavior.
