Abstract
Misbehaving of nodes in IEEE 802.11-based ad hoc networks is a more sophisticated problem in recent research area due to its serious effects to network performance. The problem is caused of many unexpected security problems. Hence, a favor analytical model to capture most features of IEEE 802.11 based wireless networks with the presence of node misbehaviors is first key step to design detection and prevent schemes. This paper presents a novel analytical model to provide a detailed understand of node misbehaviors that uses to evaluate the network performance in terms of throughput and access delay under typical MAC layer attacks.
