Abstract
The characteristics of a planar inverted F antenna mounted in a laptop computer are described. The PIFA operates in the 2.40-2.48 GHz band for IEEE802.11b which is widely used for wireless LAN. Dependences of the antenna characteristics on some parameters such as antenna position are investigated. Furthermore, on the assumption of practical computer environment use, electromagnetic interactions between the mounted antenna and human body are considered.
