Abstract
The reflection and transmission of ultrawideband electromagnetic pulses through multi-layered biological media consisting of three biological tissue layers representing skin, fat and muscle is analyzed. The frequency dependent reflection and transmission coefficients of the multilayer stack are computed using the transfer matrix method. Each of the three tissues is modeled as a homogeneous, isotropic, linear, dispersive, attenuative, dielectric with frequency dispersion described by a multiple relaxation Rocard-Powles-Debye model fit to experimental data.
