Abstract :
The impairments in the current closed-loop power control for the reverse link of the IS-95 CDMA system are investigated, and an improved scheme is proposed using linear prediction and multi-step power control at the mobile station. This method does not require a modification of the mobile and base station air interface standard. The correlation property of the accumulated power control signals is briefly discussed. Simulations conducted for the reverse link have shown that by improving the performance of the closed-loop power control, the reverse link overall performance is improved considerably
