Abstract
Code acquisition in direct sequence spread-spectrum systems must occur before data demodulation can start. In this paper, a new hybrid approach to code acquisition is proposed by using an adaptive filter. The proposed system tests several phases concurrently and, hence, offers fast acquisition with small hardware requirements. Moreover, the same system could be employed in code tracking
