Abstract
This paper introduces a new GPR antenna: the dielectric wedge antenna. This antenna is based on a dielectric wedge and has a number of similarities with dielectric-filled TEM horns. The main constructional difference of the proposed antenna from a dielectric-filled TEM horn is the tapering of the antenna flairs. An additional difference is that the dielectric base of this antenna does not have a pyramidal shape as in TEM horns but a wedge shape.
