  • Abstract
An index of autonomic neuropathy in diabetes mellitus, relative autonomic conduction velocity (RACV), which is obtained using a dual-channel self-balancing impedance reactometer, is studied. From transient electrodermal response signals detected as skin electrical capacitance relative variation, d(SECV)/dt, a delay of latency time (ΔLT) between hand and foot is obtained. The RACV is determined by the ratio of the height of the subject to ΔLT. Results indicate that RACV measured in this way is significantly lower (p<0.001) in diabetics than in nondiabetics
