Abstract :
The fractional temporal Talbot effect can be used to generate millimeter wave signals. It is shown that the efficiency of the frequency generation can be significantly improved by using arbitrary shaped dispersive elements in the setup instead of the typically used fibers or fiber bragg gratings. The frequency dependency required for an efficient RF tone generation of the arbitrary dispersive element is derived. Numerical simulations demonstrate the potential for an efficiency enhancement.
