Abstract :
A novel optically controlled frequency switching band stop filter (BSF) is presented in this paper. The filter consists of a shorted stub connected to a microstrip line. Photoconductive silicon switches are placed along the length of the stub. By optically illuminating the silicon switches the effective length of the stub and hence its resonant frequency is switched. Comparison of experimental and theoretical results is also presented.
