Abstract
In this paper, in order to reduce the computational cost, a segmentation method to analyze the notch antenna arrays is presented. First, by segmenting the notch antenna arrays into baluns and tapered slot antenna (TSA) arrays, we can investigate the active impedance or mutual coupling characteristics of TSA array. And then, with the active impedance, the 4/sup th/ order Marchand balun can be readily designed using the closed-form expressions. As a design example, E-plane notch arrays are tested to show the validity of the proposed method.
