Abstract :
This paper examines the combined effect of varying antenna polarization and mutual coupling in a generic non line of sight (NLOS) environment on multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system´s performance. Simulations at various inter-element spacing and antenna polarization are conducted in an obstructed street alley environment. This introduces variations in pattern diversity that can potentially benefit channel performance. Our goal is to finally relate this study to the design of antenna arrays for practical mobile terminals.
