Abstract
Traditionally performance prediction for enterprise computer networks has been a tedious task yielding unsatisfactory results compared to the time invested. Individual technologies such as Ethernet and TCP have been explored individually with very little attention paid to their combination with other technologies to provide an end to end service. This work presents a simple solution to the complex premise of performance prediction for heterogeneous Ethernet/frame relay networks. Integration of analytical modeling, computer simulation, and actual measurements on networks converge to provide a unique simple solution in the form of equations that can be implemented in a spread sheet
