Abstract
In this paper a novel planar-type sectored antenna, which is suitable for wide-band communication access systems, was proposed. A slot Yagi-Uda array with post-wall cavity was developed as a basic element for constructing the planar-type sectored antenna. The array having 4 slots was analyzed using FDTD technique, and its characteristics were revealed. Based on the simulated results, a planar-type 6-sector antenna consisting of the 4-element array was designed and measured at 10 GHz. It is found that the sectored antenna in which the interaction effects between neighboring arrays is sufficiently suppressed can be realized by utilizing the proposed slot Yagi-Uda array.
