  • Abstract
A UWB magneto-electric dipole antenna is presented. The antenna is composed of a horizontal bowtie electric dipole, a vertically-oriented folded shorted patch antenna, a microstrip-to-stripline transition, and a rectangular cavity. Simulated results reveal that the antenna can achieve an impedance bandwidth of 110% (SWR≤2), stable unidirectional radiation pattern with low cross polarization, low back radiation, nearly identical E- and H-plane patterns and stable gain over the operating frequencies.
