Abstract
The work carried out studies different base station selection methods and two handover decision criteria in a DCA like system and their effect on the quality of the system. For this study the authors have implemented a mobile system with base stations and mobile terminals that follows a DECT standard. They have studied how to improve the system behaviour using multiple base station selection applied to busy spots and continuous channel search and its effect on the number of handovers. The work presented in this paper tries to quantify the improvement obtained with these two techniques and at the same time to show some side effects
