  • Abstract
This paper presents a forward scattering UTD method to evaluate GSM signals along the vertical and transverse planes. Reflections and diffractions in forward directions from the base station to the mobile in those two planes are included to determine the power received by the mobile. To find the scattering objects, building exterior geometries are obtained from 1:1000 digital city maps. An efficient method to identify forward propagation paths of multiple reflections and diffractions is developed. Simulations and measurements of the signals from a GSM base station are compared.
