Abstract
This paper shows some initial results on array synthesis when different radiation patterns are allowed to the array elements. The array synthesis is performed by using a Genetic Algorithm and with the thinned array technique. As optimization criterium we propose to point to non-broadside directions and keep a reasonable SLL level without using phase shifters. Results are shown for arrays with two types of elements and more elaborated synthesis conditions were added.
