Characteristics of a flexible software factory: organization design applied to software reuse

A research program is being created to apply expertise in organization design to overcome organizational impediments in software reuse. The potential contribution of organizational design to software reuse is to address many of the ´non-technical´ organizational issues through the intentional design of the software reuse organization. This deliberately designed software reuse organization is called a flexible software factory. The author outlines the characteristics of a flexible software factory incoporating the fundamentals of organization design, and how they can be applied to software reuse.<>
