Abstract :
The Flexible Logic Element Matrix (FLEX) programmable logic family provides densities up to 24000 usable gates, making it the ideal logic alternative for nearly 50% of all gate-array design starts. FLEX programmable logic provides the functionality and ease-of-use that are critical for fast and successful logic integration. Combined with the MAX+PLUS II development system, It revolutionizes the process of designing with register-rich programmable logic. MAX+PLUS II provides a comprehensive, easy-to-use logic development system that complements the flexibility and functionality of the FLEX architecture. It is concluded that, with design cycles measured in hours rather than days or weeks, FLEX devices provide the time-to-market advantage to create successful system products in the 1990s and beyond.<>
